The train is leaving the station, but the passengers have no shadows, and the conductor is dead.
The desert wind howls. The steam locomotive of the New Tlahuata Express hisses on the tracks. You step aboard just as the whistle blows. As you walk down the aisle, you notice the passengers sitting in absolute silence—and none of their shadows move with the swaying lanterns. In the baggage car, the conductor lies cold, a gold coin in his mouth.
The desert of New Tlahuata is a barren wasteland where the line between the living and the dead blurs at dusk. The railway was built over ancient burial grounds, and locals whisper that the night train sometimes carries souls that forgot to cross over.
The train will reach the border bridge at midnight. If the mystery isn't solved, the bridge will collapse.
Your hero will have their own personal connection to this story — it's chosen at random when you create your character.
"Last Train from New Tlahuata" is a ready-to-play session for an AI-powered roleplaying game. The AI takes on the role of Game Master: narrating the story, describing the world, playing every NPC, and reacting to your actions. It's a text-based RPG you can start playing right away — no prep, no need to find a Game Master. Solo — just you and the AI. With a friend — two players in the same story by invite.
